      2. List of Current Medication: This information is valuable to provide optimal

      3. Clean Indoor Footwear: This ensures a hygienic and safe experience at the clinic. 

  • Gaining a deep understanding of your situation is the focus of the first session (60 minutes). This includes:  

      

    • In-depth Discussion: nature of the injury, medical history, pain or limitations, personal goals; 

    • Physical Assessment: measurement of mobility, strength, balance and possibly neurological scan; 

    • Treatment Plan: design of personalized treatment plan. 

  • Virtual appointments are available at your discretion. This option extends to both the initial assessment and follow-up treatments. Certain treatment plans also have virtual sessions included.

  • In case of a medical emergency, contact your primary physician, visit the Emergency Department, or call 911. For matters related to your treatments, scheduling, or billing, email me at physio@physika.ca. You can expect a reply within 1-2 business days. 

  • Hands-on patient care is a priority at Physika. Streamlining communication via automated online systems creates more time for a personalized approach.  

  • An automatic appointment reminder will be sent 2 days before each scheduled session. In the email, there is a "Reschedule" button at the bottom. Select the appropriate button to make changes.  If you encounter any issues or have questions, email me at physio@physika.ca.  

  • Collaborating with your chosen healthcare providers will require your prior consent. Filling out and signing a medical release waiver allows me to send reports to your designated providers.  

  • Sessions are most effective when conducted distraction-free. However, communication or mobility issues may require that you bring someone along. For minors, the presence of an adult is strongly encouraged (parent or legal guardian).    

  • You can subscribe to a monthly newsletter on the home page of this website. It covers: evidence-based topics, common injury treatments, injury prevention, health education, and more.  

     

    Shorter blogs regularly offer insights on various health topics.

  • Your feedback is valued. For immediate concerns or improvements, please provide verbal feedback. After completing your treatment plan (discharge), you'll receive a formal survey via email.  The survey is quick (1-2 minutes).

  • Injuries and conditions: strains/weakness, tendonitis, bursitis, herniated discs, post-fracture rehab, and stiffness (muscles, joints, and ligaments)  

     

    Types of injuries: sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents (MVA), work-related injuries.  

     

    Assisting clients in reclaiming the sports, activities, or hobbies they cherish is the primary focus. 

  • Each person's needs are unique. Suggestions may include: 

    • optimizing quality of sleep; 

    • ensuring proper hydration (water intake); 

    • modifying posture for activities that require prolonged sitting/standing; 

    • addressing smoking and alcohol consumption;  

    • incorporating daily physical activity such as walking.  

  • A personalized treatment plan must address the nature of the injury and specific needs. The plan of care will evolve with current physical status.  

    Treatment modalities may include: 

    • Exercise: at home and in clinic sessions; 

    • Hands-on treatments: soft tissue mobilizations and massage, joint mobilizations and manipulation, acupuncture and dry needling. 

  • Initial Assessment: This session is typically longer. It can last approximately 1 hour.  

     

    Follow-up Treatments: These sessions are usually shorter. They can take 30-45 minutes, depending on your treatment needs.  

  • Virtual appointments are available at your discretion. This option extends to both the initial assessment and follow-up treatments. Certain treatment plans also have virtual sessions included.

Physiotherapy (Services)

  • Private Insurance Plan (Extended Health Care Benefits)


    Most health insurance plans provide coverage for physiotherapy. Before booking an appointment, contact your insurance representative to inquire about physiotherapy coverage and any other pertinent questions.  

    Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Insurance 


    ​Physiotherapy for injuries resulting from Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA) is available. However, direct billing to insurance companies is not provided. Payment in full is expected at the end of each session.  Before booking an appointment, contact your insurance adjuster to inquire about physiotherapy coverage and reimbursement procedures. 

    WorkSafe New Brunswick (WSNB) 


    Physika does not provide physiotherapy to WSNB claimants.    

  • No. In New Brunswick, clients have "direct access" to physiotherapy services. Some health insurance providers may require a medical prescription for reimbursement purposes. Contact your insurance representative to inquire about physiotherapy coverage and any other pertinent questions.  

     

    Please note, clients have the freedom to select their preferred physiotherapy clinic. They are not limited to the physiotherapy clinic indicated on the prescription.  

  • A receipt of full payment will be emailed after each session. Before booking an appointment, contact your insurance representative to inquire about service reimbursement and any other pertinent questions. 

  • Direct billing to insurance companies is not provided. Payment in full is expected at the end of each session.  Before booking an appointment, contact your insurance representative to inquire about physiotherapy coverage and reimbursement procedures. 

  • Contact your insurance representative for detailed information about your coverage before scheduling your first session. 

  • No. The New Brunswick provincial health plan (Medicare) does NOT cover physiotherapy in the private sector, including clinics like Physika. Medicare only covers physiotherapy services provided in the public sector, such as hospitals, the NB Extra-Mural Program, or schools.

    Physika's payment processor is Stripe. It is a globally trusted payment processing system. Credit card information is not saved locally on my system. Reentering your credit card information via Stripe will be required for each session 

  • A deposit is required at the time of scheduling each session. The remaining balance will be due at the end of each session. Upon completion of the treatment, you'll receive the receipt by email, which you can then submit to your payer for reimbursement. 

      

    It's important to note that the physiotherapy service receipt for insurance reimbursement can only be provided after the treatment has been administered. 

  • Yes.  

    Initial assessment: a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The deposit is refundable if the appointment is canceled with at least 24 hours' notice. 

     

    Subsequent sessions: there is a 10% non-refundable deposit for each session.  

  • Online payment is the only method of payment.

  • Clinic hours and days are variable, adjusting for seasons and holidays. Most often, the clinic will operate Mondays through Thursdays between 9 am and 3 pm. Refer to the home page of this website for current business hours. 

  • Front and back entrances to the building are equipped with a ramp. An elevator inside the building will take you up to the 4th floor. 

  • There is a large free parking area at the back of the building, which includes designated spaces for wheelchair accessibility.  

  • In case of a medical emergency, contact your primary physician, visit the Emergency Department, or call 911. For matters related to your treatments, scheduling, or billing, email me at physio@physika.ca. You can expect a reply within 1-2 business days.
